very little recourse as a buyer if
you purchase a property with a
bad title.
Please be circumspect, patient
and do your homework before
you make a deposit.
Be particularly wary of unscrupulous sellers who will try to give you the
impression that you are getting a "super deal" or a "rare opportunity" and
that you must act secretly and rapidly.
The truth is that most land on Corn Island is traded first amongst family
members and the sale to anyone out of the island is a major family decision.
Court issued duplicate titles (titulo supletorio) are commonly acquired and
one should avoid purchasing property with this type of title.
